Cookery Classes at Les Peupliers with Master Chef  Michael Wilke

Join us at Les Peupliers, a 200 year old French farmhouse in the heart of the Loire Valley for one of our cookery classes lead by professional chef, Mike Wilke. Mike was trained in Germany and then spent the next 30 years working in top establishments around the world. His UK restaurant gained entry into the Michelin Guide and before opening Les Peupliers in 2006, he was Executive Head Chef  at the Stone Manor Hotel in Worcestershire, Uk.
Mike’s experienced, relaxed style will let you learn in a fun yet informative manner. There will be time for lots of hands-on  instruction, along with demonstrations where you can pick up tips and tricks of the professional kitchen. Typically the class will start either mid morning or mid afternoon. During the class, you will learn how to prepare your three course lunch or dinner which you will enjoy after your lesson along with a well deserved glass of wine. Come along just for the class or combine it with a stay at Les Peupliers and discover the beauty and heritage of this part of the Loire. Then you can sample further aspects of Mike’s cooking with his gourmet evening meals each night and relaxing pampering beauty treatments in the on-site beauty room from Tracey.

Recipe cards for all meals prepared during the cookery course are presented to students afterwards.


Places will be limited to a maximum of six per class to ensure individual attention. Many aspects of modern cookery will be covered from basic knife skills such as dicing and slicing, to preparing tasty dishes and sauces, to food presentation and of course tasting! All students are given their own recipe folder to practice on friends and family when they return home.
